Randy Brecker in Toledo

Toledo Jazz Orchestra will bring six-time Grammy Award winning trumpet player Randy Brecker to the Valentine Theatre on Saturday, March 10, at 8:00 P.M. Tickets are available by visiting the Valentine Theatre Online Box Office or calling 419.242.2787.

The Toledo Jazz Orchestra will feature one of the greatest jazz artists of all time, winner of 6 Grammy awards and nominated for 18 Grammys. Randy‘s arrangements will feature some of the greatest jazz big band writers, Vince Mendoza, Jim McNeely, Alan Baylock and others. These charts have been written for Randy to perform at festivals, on recordings and in concert all over the world. Several are from his Grammy winning recording with the WDR Big Band. Selections will include “On Green Dolphin Street”, “Straight No Chaser”, “All or Nothing At All”, “Well You Needn’t”, “Dizzyland”, a Don Menza arrangement for the Louie Bellson Big Band featuring the entire trumpet section – Dwight Adams, Scott Potter, Mike Williams and Ric Wolkins, and of course the legendary Brecker compositions “Some Skunk Funk” and “Strap-Hangin”.

Free Brass Clinic with Randy Brecker & TJO Members

Toledo Jazz Orchestra in partnership with Lourdes University presents a FREE Brass Clinic with six-time Grammy Award winning trumpet player Randy Brecker on Thursday, March 8 from 10am to 2:30pm at the Lourdes University Franciscan Center. Admission is FREE and lunch will be provided for all students in attendance. In addition to Randy Brecker, TJO members Dwight Adams, Mike Williams, and Ron Kischuk will be providing instruction to brass students of all ages.
